Radiology / CT/US Tech - Radiology
Position Description: The Radiology / CT Technologist/Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic procedures at a technical level, which requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed procedures for accurate diagnosis. The radiologic / CT tech applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The Ultrasound Technologist provides diagnostic information to referring physicians using ultrasound as a diagnostic tool.
Average Weekly Hours: 32-40 per week
Education: Must have successfully completed a program of formal training in Radiologic Technology in a school which is an accredited educational program for radiologic technologists. Must be ARRT certified. CT certification and experience strongly desired! Formal ultrasound program completion and ARDMS registered or eligible a plus.
Experience: Previous experience working as a Radiologic tech strongly preferred. Computed Tomography (CT) experience strongly desired. Ultrasound experience a plus!
Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, stooping, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving intermittently during working hours. Requires lifting, turning, supporting, and positioning of all types and sizes of patients. Must be able to maneuver and operate a portable x-ray unit in all areas of the facility.
License Required: ARRT Certification required. CT Certification strongly desired. ARDMS Registration a plus.
Comments: On-call duty is required and shared by all technologists. Late hour or weekend duty is required as part of this rotation. This is a full-time position and eligible for full-time benefits. This position may involve exposure to biochemical and radioactive hazards, and exposure to odors and infectious waste, in particular blood and body fluid substances.
